The Subaru Impreza WRX STi, distributed here by Motor Image Pilipinas, Inc., bagged the prestigious 2008 Petron Car of the Year Award-Philippines title during the CoTY-P ceremonies held last week in One Esplanade, Pasay City.
Known for its heritage of victories in the World Rally Championship (WRC) and the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC), the five-door hatchback powered by a turbo charged, intercooled 2.5-liter engine won the award over 85 other vehicles that included cars, SUVs, pickups and exotic sports cars. The vehicles all went through the scrutiny of motoring journalists belonging to the Car Awards Group, Inc. (CAGI) during four weeks of tests.
