Jan 07, 2009 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The global financial crisis has sparked a wave of announcements by Australian-listed companies regarding asset devaluations, write-offs and lowered profit forecasts. There will also be more and more equity raisings as debt financing remains hard to achieve, and dividends may be affected soon as well. Those especially affected are the businesses which invested in other listed ventures, and among the latest entities warning investors of the tougher conditions is listed investment vehicle Guinness Peat Group.
