Czech average real wages up 1.2% in Q3 - statistical office

PRAGUE. DECEMBER 1. INTERFAX CENTRAL EUROPE - Czech average monthly wages rose by 1.2% in real terms in the third quarter of 2008 despite rising inflation, the Czech Statistical Office (CSU) said Monday.

"In Q3 2008, the average gross monthly nominal wage was CZK 23,144, an increase of 7.9% year-on-year (y/y); the real wage grew by 1.2%," the CSU said. "In the business sphere, the average nominal wage rose by 9.1% and the real wage by 2.3%."
