Low Unemployment Could Hold Key for 2009 Comeback
BOSTON -- Home sales in New Hampshire slid from 20,153 in 2007 to 16,099 in 2008, a 20-percent drop. The average home sales price dropped about eight percent, from $266,223 to $245,898. Foreclosures more than doubled in New Hampshire in 2008, amid the fallout from the sub-prime mortgage crisis, according to the 2009 New England Housing Market Outlook, presented by RE/MAX of New England.
