Introduction
Ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer deaths and has the highest mortality rate among gynecologic cancers. It is the most lethal malignancy of the female reproductive system, at the initial stage the five-year survival rate is nearly 45%, which declines to 30% for patients with an advanced disease [1, 2].
