COUNTRYSIDE: Recently we received the May/June, 1996 issue and I wanted to comment on some of the articles. We only received it recently because it takes a long time for COUNTRYSIDE to get from Wisconsin to Paraguay (6000+ miles).
I found the cover story interesting. I did wonder, though, why someone would choose to do without electric lights when they had electricity anyway. We've only recently gotten line power. We've been in Paraguay for 6-1/2 years. Some of that time we had no electricity, part of the time we had sporadic electricity from a neighbor's generator, and some of the time we had our own generator.
