PHILADELPHIA--Hypertensive patients with chronic kidney disease were significantly more likely to experience cardiovascular events than were those with normal renal function, but amlodipine-based treatment may have slowed chronic kidney disease progression in stage 3 patients, according to subanalysis of the large ACCOMPLISH trial.
