LEOMINSTER - If you ask the seven girls on the Leominster Pink Flamingos First Lego League robotics team what's the best part of winning the state championship last month and going on to the world championship in Atlanta in April, they would all answer the same: "Beating the boys!"
The girls, ages 10 through 12, attend public school in Leominster. This is their first year competing on the robotics team, so when they got the invitation to compete in the state championship at Worcester Polytechnic Institute on Dec. 20, they couldn't believe it. Then, they won and qualified to compete in the world competition.
