THE STAGE WAS SET for the 2008 Percussive Arts Society International Convention ,tot being among PAS's biggest. Prices for gas and air tares were peaking around the time many people were deciding whether to attend. This challenge was compounded by Austin, the host city, not being easily or affordably accessible to many travelers outside of Texas. And not long before the show, the Dow tanked, credit seized, unemployment surged ... well, you know the rest. But despite all these rocks in the road, the November 5-8 show racked up more than 6,500 attendees, the third largest crowd in PASIC history.
