PAUL LEWIS' recent article `Speed(o) Wobbles Hit Pools' (Herald on Sunday, December 28) had some false statements about the Speedo LZR Racer suit.
The Speedo LZR Racer does not contain any Neoprene. The Speedo research team, Speedo Aqualab, works closely alongside FINA to ensure all Speedo products are within strict FINA guidelines. Some competitors' brands' suits do contain Neoprene which, yes, does aid in the swimmer's buoyancy.
Speedo gave away around 3000 LZR suits at the Beijing Olympics under instructions by FINA that all swimmers must have access to the suit at the Olympics if they wanted.
