Article: FTC Shuts Down World Class Travel Network as Its Convention Looms.(Originated from The Orange County Register, Calif.)

Mar. 6--World Class Network, a fast-growing travel network, was shut down by the Federal Trade Commission just days before 8,000 member-salespeople were to gather for a convention in San Francisco. The FTC charged that the group misled members about their chances of earning big money and free travel.

A court-appointed receiver seized World Class' Irvine headquarters and warehouse, as well as a travel office in Calabasas, on Monday. U.S. District Judge Alicemarie Stotler had authorized the seizure Feb. 28. Her order was unsealed Tuesday.
