Article: Ad Agency Resigns from Delta Air Lines Account.(Originated from The Atlanta Journal and Constitution)

Mar. 7--BBDO South, Atlanta's largest advertising agency, on Thursday resigned its biggest and oldest account, Delta Air Lines, rather than compete with three other agencies for the prized business.

Some of the 180 employees in the agency's Atlanta office are expected to be laid off, but the number is unclear. BBDO, which will remain Atlanta's largest agency even after the loss, still has work to do for Delta.

Delta business has accounted for $60 million of the Atlanta office's $250 million-plus in billings. The office's other accounts include Georgia-Pacific Corp., Hardee's restaurants and Dodge auto dealers.
