Plans for an irrigation system at two local athletic fields are all mapped out and waiting for city councils approval before breaking ground. Planning commissioners gave their support for the project Thursday.
Jerry Shapy, a project organizer, presented commissioners details of Phase 2 of the Escanaba Facilities Project. The citizen volunteer group has offered to pay for a water irrigation system at the Ness and Lemerand ball fields on 18th Avenue South.
The project is expected to cost $45,000 to $50,000 to drill a well and install an irrigation system, Shapy said, adding the funding has already been raised. The project also ...
