OXFORD - With leaks in the ceiling and odors in the basement of its house-turned-office at 5 Sigourney St., the School Department hopes to move into the old police station at 450 Main St. as soon as the police move into their station now under construction at 503 Main St.
Ernest L. Boss, superintendent of schools, said, "Our current office is in a nice-looking house. At least it looks nice from the outside, but it needs a lot of work."
He said the school administration office has ongoing roof leaks, problems with the cellar, issues with a nonhandicapped-accessible meeting room upstairs, and severely limited space.
