Article: United Airlines and Flight Attendants Intensify Contract Talks

WASHINGTON, March 7 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines and the Association of Flight Attendants, AFL-CIO, announced today an agreement to pick up the pace of contract negotiations. The parties have agreed to a concentrated period of negotiations to begin in April.

Union negotiators said they were "cautiously optimistic" about this latest development in contract negotiations that began last year. Both sides recently expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of negotiations. March 1, 1997, marked one year since the flight attendants' contract became amendable.
