For most of us, the end of the festive season means getting rid of the nasties that have accumulated in our bodies, in other words it's time for "detox".
The Chambers Twentieth Century Dictionary tells us that "detoxify" means "to rid of poison or the effects of it".
The thought is so off-putting that it is difficult to ignore the number of articles and advertisements that appear during the month of the January, telling us of the benefits of detox.
Myth or not, plenty of celebrities have followed the detox route, including Beyonce - whose detox diet included lemon, maple syrup and cayenne pepper - Victoria Beckham ...
