The learning benefits of knowledge of results (KR), or information about the outcome of a task, are well known (Salmoni, Schmidt & Walter, 1984, Schmidt, 1988). In many learning situations, however, an instructor gives information about the performer's movement pattern, known as knowledge of performance or KP (Gentile, 1972; Salmoni et al., 1984; Schmidt, 1988). In several studies, KP has been shown to have potential learning benefits.
