FORT WAYNE, Ind.--Mar. 10--DePuy Inc. took another step into the European orthopedic market with its agreement to buy Landanger-Camus.
The Warsaw-based company said last week it will pay $144.6 million for 89.6 percent of the French manufacturer of hip implants and distributor of orthopedic devices. The price may be adjusted after an audit of the company.
Once that is completed, DePuy will acquire the rest of the company under mandatory buy-out rules.
Paris-based Landanger-Camus, the leading French orthopedic company, had sales of 500.9 million francs ($87.8 million) in the year ended Aug. 31 and net income of 40.3 million francs ...
