We refer to African Business, October 2008 and its special report on "The 100 Top African Banks". We were surprised by the information published on page 30 regarding BGFIBANK's capital. It reads: "Gabon's BFGI retains the top spot with capital of$115m but this is a big fall on last year's $185m and possibly a reflection on falling Gabonese oil production. Although international oil prices remain very high, lower output could finally be having an impact on the rest of the economy.
