Article: Manta Ray Set to Begin Major System Expansion

HOUSTON, March 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Joint owners of Manta Ray Offshore Gathering Company, L.L.C. announced today plans to proceed with a $60 million expansion of Manta Ray's natural gas gathering system in the central Gulf of Mexico. Manta Ray is owned by affiliates of Shell Oil Company (50 percent), Leviathan Gas Pipeline Partners, L.P. (NYSE: LEV) (25.67 percent) and Marathon Oil Company (24.33 percent).

Regulatory review of the expansion project was completed February 27, 1997, when the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) ruled that Manta Ray's new 24-inch, 47-mile pipeline will be exempt from FERC jurisdiction under the Natural Gas Act. ...
