Mar. 12--Boeing Co. is trying to lock up an impending aircraft order from Delta Air Lines by offering the carrier a long-term deal for future jets at guaranteed prices.
The deal would make Boeing Delta's sole supplier of new aircraft and give it a major victory over Airbus Industrie, a European consortium also trying to land Delta's business.
Delta on Tuesday said it is still considering both manufacturers and declined specific comment on the Boeing offer, first reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Last week Ronald W. Allen, Delta's chairman, told the Journal-Constitution that the talks are in the "final and rather sensitive stages" ...
