Article: General Mills Reports Record Earnings of 78 Cents Per Share for Fiscal 1997 Third Quarter

MINNEAPOLIS, March 12 /PRNewswire/ -- General Mills (NYSE: GIS) today reported earnings of 78 cents per share for the third quarter of fiscal 1997, up 7 percent from the 73 cents per share earned in the same period last year. Results for the 13-week period ended Feb. 23, 1997, were reduced 2 cents per share as expected by the acquisition of the Ralcorp branded cereal and snacks businesses completed Jan. 31, 1997.
