LOS ANGELES, March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Signature Resorts, Inc., (Nasdaq-NNM: SIGR) today announced the execution of a definitive agreement for the acquisition by it of the Savoy Hotel, located on the beach in the South Beach district of Miami Beach, Florida. Following the acquisition of the Hotel, which is expected to close in the second quarter of 1997, Signature intends to convert the existing 40 hotel units in the north building and the 28 units in the partially constructed south building, into approximately 68 studio, one and two bedroom vacation ownership units.
