Many, many years ago, I got my first speaking engagement with the Information Industry Association (IIA). It was only a regional meeting, but, frankly. I was thrilled. Golly! Gee! Speaking in front of the folks who actually made the databases I had used for so many years! Representing users everywhere, the Silent Majority whose Voice I could become, a Voice that would peal forth for all the Muted and Oppressed.
