Have you ever studied a new language, or do you speak more than one language at home? Learning a foreign language can be a lot of fun. It's also a great way to find out about other countries and about the people from those countries.
In most middle and high schools in the United States, students can take foreign language classes such as Spanish, French, German, and Latin. But it's much less common for schools to offer classes in Mandarin Chinese. Mandarin is one of many Chinese dialects or language variations.
