Mar. 12--Zagara's, the fresh-produce superstore that's become a gourmet mainstay in South Jersey, is being sold to Genuardi's Family Markets, the Norristown supermarket chain.
Yesterday, after an all-night negotiating session, the heads of the two family-owned businesses stood in Zagara's Evesham Township store a few feet from a refrigerator display of natural beef, raised without hormones.
"You can either be bigger, better, cheaper or different," said John Zagara, president of Zagara's Specialty & Natural Foods.
