Brasil Telecom (BrT) has expanded its fiber-optic network in five cities in Brazil and plans to offer broadband Internet access to residential users at speeds of up to 100Mbps. In the first phase, BrT is offering fiber-optic connectivity to residential users in federal capital Brasilia, Parana state capital Curitiba, Goias state capital Goiania, Rio Grande do Sul state capital Porto Alegre, and Santa Catarina state capital Florianopolis.
