City National Makes Inroads: It's not a huge player in the midmarket space here, but it's a player for sure. City National Bank aims to raise its profile here in the wake of all the problems besetting the financial services industry.
"We're the largest bank headquartered in Southern California, and have 62 offices in statewide," said Steve Casato, City National's senior vice president. "We also just had our 62nd profitable quarter."
No small feat in these times. While City National carries some problem loans on its books, it's a minimal amount relative to its total assets of $16.3 billion.
