Mar. 13--The U.S. Air Force has awarded a $452 million, five-year contract to provide logistical support to military units overseas to Readiness Management Support, a joint venture newly organized by Glendale-based Johnson Controls Inc. and Lockheed Martin Corp. of Greenville, S.C.

"It's like an open purchase order," Johnson Controls spokesman John Bernaden said Wednesday. "As the Air Force gets involved with overseas missions such as Bosnia, they can call upon RMS to provide support services for the Air Force's needs so they can better concentrate on their mission."
