DHL cuts 736 Michigan jobs
Bonn, Germany-based Deutsche Post AG will cut 736 Michigan jobs as part of its plan announced in November to close all of its DHL Express service centers.
The facilities affected are in Detroit (200 jobs), Southfield (100), Troy (100) and Niles (336), according to a report from the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth.
The company also will eliminate U.S.-only domestic shipping by land and air in its effort to stem losses.
The company is trimming 9,500 jobs nationally.
