March 1, Bill Odom will step down as chairman of Ford Motor Credit Co. after doubling the unit's assets and profits and embarking on an international strategy during his nine-year stewardship.
Ken Whipple, 62, assumes the title of chairman and CEO of Ford Credit while retaining his position as president of the Ford Financial Services Group, which includes Ford Credit and The Associates.
Edsel Ford II, 48, continues as Ford Credit president and chief operating officer, a post he has held since May 1991. He also is a vice president of Ford Motor Co. and a member of the board of directors.
