Thomas Henick-Kling's real wine education began when he used to travel with his father to the vineyards and wineries of Germany on wine tasting and buying trips.
"The best thing about it was that I did not have a driver's license," he laughed, recalling the experience. "At 16, I could legally drink wine and buy wine in Germany, so those trips were pure pleasure to me."
Dr. Henick-Kling is now an associate professor in the Department of Food Science & Technology at the Geneva campus of Cornell University and involved in a major way with wine, directing and taking part in both enological and viticultural research with colleagues at the New York State ...
