BOYLSTON - If, upon approaching a Boylston firefighter while bundled against the elements, you were told to "go drill a hole," would you find that response fishy? If so, you're in the right spot, because on Feb. 7, it's all part of the plan.
The fourth annual Boylston Fire Association Ice Fishing Derby is scheduled to start at 6 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, on the ice of Newton Lake, better known around town as Mud Pond, according to Matt Mecum, a member of the Boylston Fire Department and president of the Boylston Lions Club, which will be selling food on the ice at this year's derby.
