Jan. 19--CAMDEN -- Carl Nafzger achieved elite status as a bull rider, reaching the National Rodeo Finals in three consecutive years, 1963-65, but he was immortalized as one of the great Thoroughbred trainers, having been inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 2008. Nafzger was the guest speaker at the South Carolina Thoroughbred Owners' and Breeders' Association annual awards dinner that was held in conjunction with the South Carolina Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation and served as a fundraiser for the SCTRF.
