The Senate Blue Ribbon and public works committees are ready to investigate the World Bank s expose on a cartel of contractors in the Philippines as one of those blacklisted by the WB was also allegedly involved in a P70-million bribery of a person close to Malacanang to bag a P1.4-billion project for the rehabilitation of EDSA.
Senators say they see more than what the World Bank exposed, as Sen. Panfilo Lacson has disclosed that the P70 million prepared by a group of contractors for the EDSA project even fell out of its container and was strewn all over the floor when it was delivered to a Makati City building.
