In the movie Star Wars, Luke Skywalker ekes out a hardscrabble existence with his aunt and uncle on the planet Tatooine. It's a desert planet, swept by ferocious sandstorms, where really weird life-forms-Jawas, bantha, and womp rats-battle to survive.
In 1977, when Star Wars debuted, Tatooine was a very unusual science-fictional planet. It had not one but two suns. Since then, two-sun planets have cropped up in many movies, books, and TV shows--Futurama, Battlestar Gallactica, Alien Planet-and even a video game, Spore.
