Jan. 22--If not for assaulting another person in December, a day before a court date to plead guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and child endangerment, Jenica Ladon Royer would have walked out of court Tuesday with a deferred judgment. But District Court Judge William Dowell cited the 28-year-old woman's "less than satisfactory" performance while on pretrial release, adding he would have considered a deferred judgment if not for her being convicted of assault while on pretrial release supervision.
