LIBACAO, Aklan -- Korean investors are interested to harness renewable energy resources and put up hydroelectric power plants in this town.
Petroxy Corp., a group of companies in Korea, said they plan to develop the untapped resources of the Aklan River for hydroelectric power.
Mayor Charito Navarosa welcomed the plans of the South Korean investors to generate and offer cheap electricity for the province.
"The indigenous peoples and the chieftains will be consulted about the entry of Petroxy in our town. The project could supply about 80 megawatts from the proposed hydroelectric power plant," he said.
