WASHINGTON, March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- HHS Secretary Donna E. Shalala today announced the appointment of John M. Eisenberg, M.D., M.B.A., as Administrator of the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR).

Dr. Eisenberg, 50, was a founding Commissioner of the Congressional Physician Payment Review Commission from 1986 through 1995, serving as its Chairman from 1993-1995.
