Equity trading on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) was on Tuesday boosted by renewed interest in the shares of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (TransCorp), as it accounted for 43.78 per cent of the total market turnover.
Particularly, it recorded a turnover of 204.64 million shares valued at N124.83 million in 68 deals. Experts disclosed that the renewed interest in the shares of the company may be as a result of speculations that it has entered into a strategic agreement with a particular state government and a group of private firms in Nigeria to provide certain services.
