It was a night for upsets in Onondaga League Liberty Division boys basketball Friday night as divisional state-ranked co-leaders Marcellus and Hannibal both tasted defeat.
First, divisional scoring leader Mike Stone led the way with 20 points as hot-shooting Bishop Grimes (4-3, 9-4) bolted to a 21-6 first-period lead and pulled away for a 73-64
victory at No. 7 state-ranked Marcellus (8-2, 14-2).
Grimes made good on 55 percent of its field-goal attempts and also sank 12-for-15 at the free-throw line. Marcellus shot just 39 percent from the field.
