Jan. 26--When two teams that are familiar with each other battle for supremacy in a league over a period of years, you can usually bet the next game will be a dogfight. And that's just what the fans got Saturday night at the Perryman Athletic Complex in the finals of the boys' Hi-Plains League tournament between Syracuse and Southwestern Heights. When the buzzer sounded, Syracuse (10-1) prevailed 54-45 to claim its first league tourney title since 2003. For Heights and coach Chad Novack, it was its first appearance in the finals since 1997.
