SEBI threatens action against 26 cos for investor grievances

Mumbai, Jan 26 (PTI) -- Capital markets regulator SEBI today threatened to take penal action against 26 companies that have not addressed the grievances of a large number of investors.

In a notice to the 26 companies, SEBI said that the market regulator would be constrained to take action under the SEBI Act if they fail to submit the status report within 30 days on the grievances of the investors.

Under Section 15 C of the SEBI Act, such companies would be liable to a hefty penalty.
