DALLAS, April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Maynard Oil Company (Nasdaq: MOIL) reported net income of $107,921 or two cents per share, for the fourth quarter of 1996 on revenues of $8,008,238 and net income of $9,953,783, or two dollars and four cents per share, for the year on revenues of $37,518,266. Fourth quarter results were impacted by an additional $3.1 million in income tax expense related to the third quarter gain from the disposition of assets.

Maynard Oil Company is engaged in exploration, development and production of oil and natural gas in the United States. The Company's common stock is traded over the counter under the Nasdaq Symbol MOIL.
