THOUGH THE DAVWW HAD EXISTED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS PRIOR TO SEPTEMBER 25, 1920, THE DAY IS CONSIDERED THE BIRTH DATE OF THE ORGANIZATION. THE CINCINNATI GROUP, MEMORIAL HALL, INTERIOR HEADED BY JUDGE MARX, CALLED A NATIONAL CAUCUS ON THAT DATE. IT WAS ATTENDED BY SOME 2,50 DISABLED VETERANS FROM VARIOUS SELF-HELP GROUPS FROM ACROSS THE UNITED STATES.
