*Seven signal San Diego interest: The San Diego Union-Tribune reported last week that at least seven groups have indicated an interest in acquiring the paper, which its parent, Copley Press Inc. of La Jolla, Calif., put up for sale last July. The paper said that representatives from MediaNews Group Inc. of Denver and its partner in the California Newspapers Partnership LLP, Stephens Media Group of Little Rock, Ark., and Las Vegas, have been given presentations on the paper and have visited the operation.
