Whether or not the value of daily newspapers has hit bottom or not is a question open for debate, but a sufficient number of publishers have become fearful enough in recent weeks to believe that the bottom has yet to have been reached. The latest case in point is Cox Enterprises Inc. of Atlanta, which last Wednesday said that it was putting up for sale its papers in Texas (including the Austin American-Statesman), North Carolina and Colorado -- 10 different titles -- and will keep only its flagship Atlanta Journal-Constitution, its founding paper, Ohio's Dayton Daily News and Florida's Palm Beach Post.
