SALEM - The Salem man who built Sunwest Management into one of the nation's larger senior housing companies, Jon Harder, 41, will step aside.
The controversy swirling around him has hampered the company's reorganization attempts, said Clyde Hamstreet, the business turnaround consultant who has operated the nationwide company since November.
"The serious financial challenges facing Sunwest Management have reached a critical point. ... I feel it is best for me to step aside," Harder wrote in a resignation letter that Hamstreet released.
