WASHINGTON--Apr. 6--The F-22 will make its grand debut in Marietta Wednesday to an undoubtedly admiring crowd that will include top Pentagon officials and prominent members of Congress.
But the glitter of the unveiling at the sprawling Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems plant will not lull the plane's supporters into dropping their fierce defense of the next generation of stealth fighter planes.
The F-22 has quite a fight on its hands at the Pentagon, where defense budget crunchers are trying to make fewer dollars buy increasingly sophisticated equipment, and across the Potomac, where normally pro-defense Republicans in Congress are asking ...
