Information Access Company (IAC) has announced the introduction of its new Remote Patron Authentication Service. The service enables libraries to provide controlled, secured Web access to SearchBank databases 24 hours a day from any personal computer equipped with a Web browser.
Remote Patron Authentication Service is an optional SearchBank service that checks the identification of patrons attempting to access SearchBank database over the Web from outside the library. It helps libraries to control subscription costs and Internet access fees by ensuring that only authorized patrons use the system.
